Silent Auction to Feature Top Autographed Sports Memorabilia
(August 30, 2018) Bring your wallets, sports fans! This year's Golden Kielbasa Veterans Open will feature a brand new addition, a silent auction conducted by local sports memorabilia dealer J&B Autographs. J&B Autographs will have available for bidding a wide variety of items, including autographed balls, framed photographs, jerseys and more, with an emphasis on local professional teams (Red Sox, Yankees, Giants, Patriots, etc.) "We're excited about this. We'll have autographed memorabilia from all different teams, in all sports," J&B owner Jeff Carterud said. "People will be excited with the stuff they'll see, and we'll make sure we have items priced for everybody." A portion of sales will benefit the GK, and payment will be accepted via cash, check or credit card.
10th Annual Golden Kielbasa Sept. 27 to Honor New Britain's Dennis Taricani
(July 6, 2018) The state's largest veterans charity golf event will celebrate a decade of raising funds for veterans causes this September by honoring a recentliy retired Connecticut Vietnam veteran who has spent the past 48 years giving back to veterans and educating New Britain's youth. The 10th Annual Golden Kielbasa Veterans Open, hosted by the Disabled American Veterans, Hardware City Chapter 8 and presented by Farmington Bank, will take place on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Tunxis Plantation Country Club in Farmington with the guest of honor being DAV Chapter 8 Commander Dennis Taricani. More than 200 golfers and 300 guests at the post-golf dinner and ceremonies are expected to be on hand for Connecticut's preimeir veterans charity golf event.
