ATTENTION! The New Britain High School Junior ROTC Color Guard lends a formal, patriotic and dramatic flair to the proceedings.
THAT SAYS IT ALL: Farmington Bank Senior Vice President Eric Schwab addresses a crowd of nearly 200 during formal ceremonies at the VFW honoring New Britain-area veterans and New Britain Marine Manny Jimenez.
ROUND OF APPLAUSE: Following the introduction of New Britain war hero Manny Jimenez, the crowd erupted in a standing ovation.
HUMBLED AND PROUD: Retired Marine Corporal Manny Jimenez speaks to the crowd honoring his service to our country. Jimenez lost his left arm, hearing in his left ear and partial sight in his left eye when an IED exploded while he was on routine patrol in Afghanistan in 2010.
WITH GRATITUDE: Dick Wearne, right, and Fred McGoldrick of the Marine Corps League, Hardware City Detachment #781 make a presentation to Manny Jimenez.

COMRADES: Northwestern Veterans, T.G.M. Memorial Post Vice Commander Ed Mackiewicz, a Korean War Vet and double Purple Heart recipient, honors fellow Purple Heart recipient Cpl. Jimenez with a custom-engraved Marine Corps NCO sabre "from a proud and grateful hometown."
